Interfaith prayer vigil for peace in the Middle East

An Interfaith Prayer Vigil for Peace in the Middle East will be held Wednesday, July 26, 6:00 pm at Lytton Plaza (corner of University and Emerson), in downtown Palo Alto, CA.

As the suffering and tragedy continue in Lebanon, Israel and Palestine, as well as Iraq, people of many faiths and spiritual traditions will come together to support international calls for an immediate cease-fire on all sides, an end to hostilities and an end to the fighting in Iraq, to say "No" to war and say "Yes" to peace and justice.

Prayers for peace will be lifted up for ALL the people of the Middle East, indeed, all the people of the world.

Taking place outdoors in downtown Palo Alto, the service will also be a public witness to the truth that people of all religions, cultures, nationalities and walks of life can come together in peace, seeking reconciliation, justice and compassion for all human life.

The event will include scriptures for peace from different faith traditions, songs, prayers and rituals calling participants as well as the governments of this world to embody and embrace the ways of peace and well-being for all creation.

Everyone is welcome.

Sponsored by Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice, American Muslim Voice and
other communities and organizations.
