AMV condemns school killings in Russian school

Sept. 7, 2004 - American Muslim Voice today strongly condemned the recent killing of more than 300 innocent people, including many children, at a school seized by terrorists in Beslan, southern Russia.

The horrible deaths of so many innocent people is deeply shocking and saddening. Endangering the lives of children and innocent people cannot be justified for any purpose.

The Qur'an clearly states: "If anyone slays a human being, it shall be as though he had slain all mankind" (5:32). No injustice done to Muslims can ever justify the massacre of innocent people, and no act of terror will ever serve the cause of Islam.

Our heart goes out to the relatives and friends of those who were the innocent victims of terrorist violence, especially to the parents of so many children who lost their lives.

We call for an urgent solution to the conflict in that troubled region to let all people live in peace.
